FY 2025　Resident Tax declaration and National Health Insurance /　住民税（じゅうみんぜい）の申告（しんこく）と　国民 健康 保険（こくみん けんこう ほけん）

Declaration of Resident Taxes (City・Prefectural) is related to various things,

including National Health Insurance premium.

National Health Insurance premium is calculated based on total income of the previous year. To determine the National Health Insurance premium, the income for the previous year must be declared to the local government office every year.

Even if you have just arrived in Japan, or have not worked in the previous year,

you need to declare that you had no income, to determine the correct National Health Insurance premium.

Those who had no ( low ) income in the previous year

If your National Health Insurance premium has not been calculated correctly,

It is possible that you did not file a Resident Tax or Final Tax Return.
